ICOM Missions Conference is coming in 2017!
I had such a great experience at ICOM Missions Conference in 2016 in Louisville, KY. The opportunity to meet so many new friends, and learn about so many missions agencies, and hear the incredible things that God is doing through his church worldwide, was amazing. I can’t wait to hear more stories, and consider where I should go, this year at ICOM2017!
Read my blog on ICOM (International Conference On Missions) 2016 here: https://www.gninsurance.com/blog/news-and-helpful-links/adventures-at-icom-2016/.
But why simply read about ICOM when you can experience it yourself?
What is ICOM?
ICOM is a 3-4 day international and national missions conference held annually for churches, missions organizations, and people involved with or interested in missions both here and abroad. The conference’s purpose is to equip, encourage, and enlist missionaries for the harvest – to bring the good news of Jesus to the world. Christians attend from all over the globe.

Why should you go to ICOM?
You don’t have to have experience in the mission field to attend- if anything, this conference is perfect for those who feel called to missions, yet don’t know where to start! So whether you are an exhibitor or attendee, you should consider the ICOM Missions Conference for the following reasons:
For Exhibitors / Mission Agencies both large and small
If you’re part of a missions organization that works with missionaries or churches; are looking to recruit workers; or simply tell your story and become better known, ICOM is a great place to tell thousands of other believers about the work you’re doing and invite them to get involved. Booths are relatively inexpensive at $350. And many people there are looking for organizations to join, donate to, get connected with, etc. About 7500-12,000 people attend every year incl. SICOM which is the Student International conference on Missions. You can learn more at: http://theicom.org/exhibitor-information/. Be aware that due to the large attendance and low price to exhibit, booths sell out VERY FAST with prime spots usually sold the first day offered (usually in December for the following November conference)! There are 575 spaces in Peoria this year, and right now, in January, only 60 are left.
Many of the missions organizations represented are small, with only a few expat staff overseas, large national staff and/or the actual missionaries/local missionaries and workers themselves attending. If Urbana is outside your budget, ICOM may be a perfect fit. The ICOM started out as a missions conference for the Christian church, Disciples of Christ, Restoration Movement but has now grown into a larger movement of believers from a large variety of backgrounds and interdenominational mission agencies.
Attendees / students/ Short-term missionaries
ICOM is an awesome place to meet people who share your love of missions and explore short-term missions programs with 7,500-12,000 others and over all seeking God’s glory. If you have elementary or junior high students, there’s a popular young student track/program called SICOM they can attend. There’s also a ton of Christian universities that are recruiting, if you’re/they’re looking at colleges to attend. And the 300+ missions agencies and missionary support organizations there are excited to pray with you and help you follow what God has called you to, whether it’s in the states or overseas.
