Christians in the Middle East – Part 2: How you can help
Watching the news and hearing the effects of ISIS and other fundamentalist movements/uprisings/attacks on those who have borne the name of Christ as part of The Church in the Middle East, for hundreds of years is disturbing, yet most western believers didn’t even know there is a historic church in the Middle East made up of Arabs and other nationalities that have a long, tumultuous history. See our blog last week for more >>
How should we respond?
Besides adding a #WeAreN or #WeAreAllN facebook or Twitter pic, should Protestant believers in the West care about what happens to minority groups of Middle Eastern origin (or in India)? What can Western Christians do to help anyway?
(‘N’ in Arabic, is the symbol used by the “Islamic State” [IS or ISIS] to identify someone who is a “Nazarene” – a Christian)
#WeareN has circled the globe
The Assyrian Church of the East has it’s own relief agency – http://theacero.org/
Samaritan’s Purse is also a large agency aiding refugees
Many of the above organizations are also coordinating relief and aid to those driven from their homes in Iraq and Syria. Much of this relief work is happening in Lebanon, Turkey, and Jordan.
